and his wife called from Michigan. George was here from 1920-22 and this was his first return visit. Richard Brumby and his wife expect a fourth child in October. Ray Wookey is married and is Marketing Manager for an electronics firm. Steve McGill and his wife, Bernadette, called in one Sunday. Steve is in excellent health and works for the Housing Association. He brought news of Chris Allen, now married with two children and involved in the construction of long distance lorries. Adrian Kirkham has just done a Geography course in Tunisia. Lee Paul Jeffery is an apprentice chef, works at the Manor House, Tean, and is looking forward to his course at Cauldon College. Peter Willis completed his course in the RAF Regiment and is off to Bruggen, Germany; he is signing on for nine years. Other visitors included Corporal Philip Smith, Grenadier Guards, and his wife; Brian Helsby; and Anthony Lethbridge, now in the catering business at the `French Horn', Sonning. Peter Akerman, after four years in a London bank and four years as a gaming inspector for Mecca, now runs an antique business in Richmond. He lives in Esher, but, on account of his work for a baroness, also has a flat in St James's. Edward and Richard Schenk are helping their mother in the family firm at Manchester.

Our photograph shows Dan Breen receiving a presentation at his farewell lunch on his retirement from `The Universe' last June. Dan was Sub-Editor of `The Catholic Times' before its take-over by `The Universe' in 1962. He received the KSG for his forty years' service to Catholic journalism. Always calm and unflappable, Dan had an immense background knowledge of Church affairs. We wish him a happy retirement.
Marie Austin wrote from her new school at Hagley and was looking forward to a canoeing expedition in July. Gerard O'Hanlon is teaching in Germany. News from the Motts: Simon is a chiropodist in Suffolk; John is a pharmacist in Norwich; Paul is in general practice in Shrewsbury. John and Paul each have a son and their wives are expecting additions to the family. John Lowe's new job has turned out to be `all he dreamed of. However, his happiness was

tragically marred when his wife was very ill in giving birth to their son, David, who died after twelve days in February last year. Patsy is now fit again; we send them both our deepest sympathy. Tim Derrington has been to America on an exchange university course in Agriculture. He visited Minnesota, Florida, Texas, Oklahoma and San Francisco
in the course of his studies. He met Jeremy Barnes who is at Columbia University. Tim O'Brien and John Chetwyn are in the Royal Marines at Lympstone, Devon. Gavin Murray met them when he went there for his harrowing physical test. Peter Isaacs is doing great work as a marriage counsellor in New Zealand. Peter Heeley wrote in his usual witty style from Oxley, Wolverhampton, where he and Sue are now living.
News from the Scotts: Patrick is FRCS (Glasgow and Edinburgh); Kieran, having finished his articles, is now a solicitor; Eamonn is Headmaster of St Vincent's School, Rochdale. With the departure of Michael O'Brien we reach the end of an era: 14 years during which the School was not without an O'Brien. The family has now returned from
Fr Tom Farrell, Sean, Nicholas, Christopher, Michael O'Brien.
