November 121h.-The Fathers of the Deanery were at lunch today. The Modern Languages Society had a film after supper. Scaffolding appeared round the organ today. Hopes that it had finally collapsed were, however, vain.

November 13th.-The, 1st and Under 15 XV's lost their matches at Newcastle High School.

November 15th.-Only those clever enough to haye trained their voices to sing off-key escaped a general choir practice.

November 1711.-Rain all afternoon whetted the appetite for the evening's film, a 'funny', starring Harold Lloyd. A good sixpence worth.

November 19th.-Nottingham High School defeated the 1st XV 26-o in very poor weather conditions. A number of the staff and forty-three boys attended a concert given by the Halle Orchestra in Hanley.

November 20th.-- J. 13. Scott was awarded Half-colours for rugby.

November 21st.-- Why did the servers at Benediction to-night conic out of one door ---and the ministers at another--at different times ?

November 22nd.-St Cecilia's Day and a holiday. A paper-chase took place this morning-the last hound got back curing lunch. After tea Bowdon and Challoner Houses combined to entertain us with Third Time Luck v. The pleasure caused by the play was dampened by the tragic news of the assassination of President Kennedy.

November 23rd.-The 1st XV defeated Trent 38-0. At 5.13, a rehearsal for tomorrow's broadcast was held under the gentle hand of Fr Stapleton. Confessions were heard after supper and Night Prayers were cancelled.

November 24111.-High Mass sung by Fr Armishaw was broadcast in the Midland Region at 9.45. Mgr Doran preached a moving testimony to the late President Kennedy. Fr McEnroe gave the Commentary.

November 271h.-The Under 16 and Under

14 XV's lost to Macclesfield.

November 28th.-Ordinary Level Latin examination this evening heralded the return of Public Examinations.

November 30111.-The Prefect's feast day. The 1st XV accompanied some of the staff to Oscott. Perhaps the fodder provided was t00 rich as the result was 21-14 in Oscott's favour. The Under 13 fared no better in their match with Bishton Hall.

December 1st.-After lunch a cricket film was shown for those seeking an escape from the wintery weather. Others played soccer or walked. After supper the Fourth Forms gave a short, highly colourful concert which left much to the imagination.

December 3rd.-A bus load departed for Coventry at 11 a.m. to see the All Blacks play the Midland Counties.

December 4th.-The Under i6 and Under 14 XV's were at home to Trent. The Junior soccer team were at home to St John's Preparatory School, Alton, and inflicted a rare defeat by 3 goals to I.

December 7th.-The 1st and Under 15 NV's played at King Edward's School, Birmingham. Aided by a good deal of touchline support, the 1st won by 9 points to 5.

December 81h.-Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Our Lady and a holiday. After supper a German film attracted a large audience.

December 911.-A holiday-for some. Public Examinations for the others in the morning. A film after tea for those who knew their Doctrine.
