THE COTTONIAN

43

Advanced Air Striking Force in France. He has now happily recovered and is attached to Coastal Command. He has played Rugger for several R.A.F. XV's, in one of which he had " Cobber " Kane as his centre three-quarter.

We were sorry to hear that L./Bdr. W. B. Gay

(O.C. 1932-34) met with a serious motor cycle

accident some nine months ago and sustained considerable injuries. It seems that one leg is permanently injured. We send him our sincere sympathy.

  • Sgt. T. H. Morris (O.C. 1932-37), serving overseas in the Intelligence Corps, tells us that he has meta great number of Cottonians on his travels, including V. Hermolle, M. Radford, Joseph O'Shea, P. Hermolle, T. Regan, J. Armstrong and T. Williams, his old form-master in 1932.

  • Congratulations to 2nd-Lieut. H. W. Le Fevre,

    R.A.S.C. (O.C. 1927-34) who was married in

November to Eleanor Margaret Palmer at St. Charles Borromeo, Weybridge.

  • We heard recently that Francis Emery (O.C:. 1927-33), now a Sergeant in the Intelligence Corps, was married two years ago.

Lieut. Peter Moore (O.C. 1932-37) and Lieut.

Michael Vaughan (O.C. 1929-35) have both been

in India for some time. The latter ran into Major John Levell (O.C. 1928-32) somewhere in the Indian Empire.

  • We were very pleased to receive a surprise visit during the term from Squadron Leader \V. M. Morris, R.A.F., D.F.C. (O.C. 1922-23), with his wife and son.

Peter Saunders (O.C. 1933-39), who is training

overseas with the Oxford and Bucks L.I., tells us that he has been hooking for his regiment. " Occasionally we get the ball back," he writes, " if it isn't put in straight."

We have had letters, too, from Christopher Cox (O.C. 1934-37), Frank Williams (O.C. 1930-36), Frederick Bathe (O.C. 1932-38), Eric Blakemore (O.C. 1925-30), Fr. R. Anwyl, C.F. (O.C. 1920-29), Fr. 13. Cox, C.F. (O.C. 1913-19) and Fr. John Jeffries, C.F. (O.C. 1915-18). We think it wiser to refrain from recording their activities here since the Chief Press Censor has been on our tracks over the last issue of the magazine. It is pleasant to note, however, the promotions that several have gained since our last number. We commend them all to God's protection.

Lieut. Oswald Foster (O.C. 1925-26) has seen a great deal of fighting as Acting-Major overseas, but the last news that we heard of him was that he was seriously ill. We commend him to your prayers. His brother, Peter (O.C. 1930-32), an Engineer Artificer in the R.N., seems to be continually looking for trouble on the high seas.
